Robert Ferrucci's paintings depict
America’s land, barns, farms and the serenity of country living. Influenced by
the vanishing open spaces, farms and barns of the Hudson Valley and New England,
Ferrucci translates the feeling and emotions that surround the subject, time and
place. He captures the peace, serenity and simplicity mixed with strong
landscapes, old homes, barns and faded images of fields and mountains. He
combines soft quiet areas with a strong central image. His paintings are filled
with muted colors, diffused images and a primitive simplicity, a contemporary
style of American Folk Art. He puts part of himself in his paintings as
influenced by 45 years of formal education, a lifetime of paintings experience
and experimentation. Many of Bob’s paintings are from a different perspective.
They seem to be painted from an aerial view. They can give you a feeling of
being safe as if someone is looking down on the land from above.
"I like to paint in a way that will allow
others to see and feel some of what I see. It’s an American style of simplicity,
serenity, the strength of the land, a child like innocence and the bold country
life." says Ferrucci.
He has studied at the New York city Art
Student’s League and the Pan American Art School in Manhattan. While working in
the graphic art and publishing industry, he also painted for galleries and
private commissions. He later studied with Gilbert Stone, a prominent
illustrator and professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. His
paintings have been shown in galleries both in Connecticut and New York. |

The color photography of Karl LaLonde is an
exploration of the beauty of old trucks. America has had a love affair with
trucks, an important part of America’s nostalgic culture. Capturing the aging
beauty, the rust, the old lights, the fading colors, has become his passion.
Karl travels with his camera through towns
photographing these beauties, each different with their unique look & styles.
Karl LaLonde is a photographer and a painter,
living most of his life here in the Hudson valley. In high school he learned how
to take pictures and the love affair continues today. He attended Dutchess
Community College for Commercial art and BARD for photography. IBM offered him a
job and he started working for them as an artist in their TV Studio in the
sixties. He was directing and producing productions by age 24 and won several
international TV awards. By 30 he was art directing. All this time, outside of
the corporation, he was photographing, painting and showing, capturing the
beauty of old trucks and the nature around us.

Hudson River Vista by Linda T.

Towns are
different with their unique look & styles. Always at their beginning or at
the edge there are junkyards taking care of the old until their recycled end.
Trucks and cars; tired and retired from there
tasks lay dormant with their own memories of the heroic deeds. For many
years they have accomplished impossible tasks for man. Their memories are
starting to fade like the color on their skin.
Trucks, the modern work horses are the heroes
we’ve used, wore out and left in a field to retire. These steel marvels
are more beautiful now than when shiny and new. Amazing what time
can do to metal and paint. How the brilliant colors are homogenized with
rust.
There is beauty in their patina, history and in their engine hearts. …………………………Karl LaLonde

Linda T. Hubbard is a photographer who is a
native of New England and also loves her home in the Hudson River Valley and
loves to travel. "I love to capture the beauty, peace and serenity of
nature - the sunlight on the mountains, the incredible detail of a flower, the
glorious colors of the sun setting over the river. I also love to include an
element of architecture, a chair, something that states how humans and nature
interrelate"
Her photographs bring back memories of a
favorite place or a time of joy and happiness. They take you to a places that
you would like to be, a season that warms and cheers you, or a peaceful setting
that soothes your soul. The photographs can enhance your home or office, be a
special gift for various occasions or be a remembrance of a special place. |

Mary Ann Glass
brings an inquiring, admiring eye to the world’s odd and beautiful things. Her
photography has been described as being spiritual and sensual, serious and
elegant. Upon graduating from the summer intensive program at the Rocky Mountain
School of Photography in Missoula, Montana, Ms. Glass left her corporate job to
settle with her cat and her Nikons in the Hudson Valley as a full-time
photographer. She sells her work throughout the tri-state area. She is one of
the owners of RiverWinds Gallery in Beacon, a gallery store featuring more than
40 artists from the region. Mary Ann is also one of two principals in fete
accompli, a premier wedding and event photography firm that combines fine art
photography with photojournalism. |
Virginia Donovan
has found a passion in painting she never anticipated. She began to paint to
‘help a friend’ by enrolling one of her classes and found that art changed
her life profoundly. "Painting feeds my love of travel and vice versa. My
sense of place deepens dramatically when I can immerse myself for a few
hours, analyze what draws me to a particular spot and paint from the heart.
I can feel the wind, recall the soft sweet smell of the grasses, remember
the old man walking his dog as I treasure my paintings done en plein air.
Even studio work allows me to revisit a special place from a plein air study
and become so engrossed in my work that I can almost put myself into the
painting. Each work has encouraged me, challenged me and rewarded me all at
the same time." |

Burano Canal - pastel by Linda
Richichi |
|
|
Linda Holmes
Richichi is an evocative Plein Air Colorist. Whether painting in the
breathtaking Hudson Valley or near castles in Tuscany, her vision is to capture
the brilliance of creation and a love of life. "Setting up the easel "en
plein air" (outdoors in open air) allows me to incorporate all the senses in
order to capture what cannot be seen. Intuition leads the way. Rather than
focusing on the details and individual parts of the scene, attention is given to
the space between forms. It is in this space that energy is felt which describes
the mood of the piece." Linda’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s
Degree in Fine Art from SUNY New Paltz and years of study with many modern
masters including Arthur Sarnoff at the Boca Raton Museum of Art in FL, Susan
Goetz in NY, John Phillip Osborne at the Ridgewood Art Institute in NJ and
classes at the Art Students League in New York City. Linda is the recipient of
numerous awards, including several for best of show. She was included in the
International Artist Magazine under Master Painters of the World, Pastel
Showcase in the Jan. 2005 issue and was critiqued favorably by art critic
Raymond J. Steiner, ART TIMES. She has also taught "plein air" pastel painting
in Tuscany, Italy. Linda Richichi is a juried associate member of the Pastel
Society of America (PSA), a member with Signature Status in the International
Plein Air Painters (IPAP) and the New York Plein Air Painters (NYPAP), a
founding member of the Portrait Society of America, and a charter member of the
Landscape Artists International |

observing, analyzing, and recording of place with pencil, or pen, in hand.
Through visual acuity and mastery of line, her drawings convey the essence
of architecture and the spirit of place.
Allison is founder and principal of rsvp
ITALIA which specializes in educational and cultural travel programs in
Italy. A former professor of Environmental Design with a graduate degree in
Renaissance Art and Architectural History earned in Florence, Allison

A. G. Edwards & Sons of Rhinebeck and

the show's artists have captured the different moods and tones of the ocean,

Taylor Hallman and Linda Hubbard.

Alison
Shaw Lagoon Fine Art Print 18 x 19 |
|
The paintings of Eline Barclay explore the essence and mood of water
and the natural world around it. The artist is concerned with early morning
and twilight as well as weather - stormy skies, foreboding clouds, gossamer
fog. She captures mood and atmosphere, with a touch of mystery without being
nostalgic. The Cornwall-on-Hudson native recently moved to Addison, Maine.
Her paintings reflect her love of the wetland and tidal marshes of both the
Hudson River region and Maine. Her response to nature is somewhere between
the naturalistic and the romantic. Eline blends her oils and pastels
seamlessly with an ethereal quality. Her work reflects a world of quiet
solitude captured with a light atmospheric touch.
Eline has had solo and group shows
throughout the Dutchess, Orange and Ulster Counties and several galleries in
Maine. She has a degree in Fine Arts from SUNY, New Paltz, NY and is part of
corporate and private collections around the world.

RiverWinds Gallery of Beacon announce their new show - "Asian Infusions"
at the AGEdwards offices in Rhinebeck. The show features ink and

Photographers Joanne Barker and MaryAnn Glass have captured
the essence of Asian simplicity and moods in their images and Linda
Hubbard’s oriental garden images portray of world of oriental beauty and
serenity. Art Business News’ January, 2006 issue features Asian Art
as exploding beyond expectation in auctions and galleries as international
buyers increase demand for Asian art. The show "Asian Influences" brings a
taste of this exquisite art form to the Hudson Valley. All artwork is for
sale and may be purchased through RiverWinds Gallery, 845-838-2880. You are
invited to the Artist Reception with
refreshments on Friday March 3, 2006 5:30 - 7:30 at AGEdwards.
Known for her traditional western style
botanical and landscapes paintings, Roberta Rosenthal, an American
master artist, blends western and eastern painting techniques for over
twenty five years. Roberta studied Japanese and Chinese brush painting with
master artists Koho Yamamoto, Kou Liang Jui and Choegyal Rimpoche. Roberta
has won awards for her Asian art exhibited at the Asia Society and Museum in
New York City. Both her traditional western and eastern style paintings are
collected internationally. Roberta teaches art at her studio in
Bloomingburg, New York, the New York Botanical Gardens and the Institute of
Ecosystem Studies in Millbrook. Prior to starting a full time career as an
artist, illustrator and designer in international commercial markets in
1969, Roberta received art degrees from the School of Art and Design and the
Fashion Institute of Technology and attended the Art Students Leagues In
1980, Roberta continued her art studies in Japanese, Chinese and Tibetan art
with master artists for more than four years. In 1984 she went to China to
oversee production of her art, commissioned by Jabara & Sons Inc. home
fashion textile corporation and experienced Asian culture first hand.
Some of Roberta's ink and watercolor
paintings are:

Anne Lantelme’s fascination with Oriental brush painting began
with a course focusing on Zen philosophy as the inspirational force of this
ancient art. She has studied under Sensei (teacher) Koho Yamamoto, the
leading sumi-e artist of New York City since 1994. She has attended
individual classes, always using ink that is freshly ground by hand,
silently as she prepares to paint. "I’m intrigued with what lies inside a
subject - the energy, the emotion, the essence - and portraying it with the
utmost simplicity." Anne has studied at Parsons School of Design and Fashion
Institute of Technology in New York City. She has designed, produced and
sold: one-of-a-kind handbags, pillows and soft boxes and painted furniture
specializing in faux-finishes. She is a board member of the Oriental Brush
Artists Guild ()BAG) at the Hammond Museum, North Salem, New York. She is a
member of the Oriental Brush Artist Guild, Sumi-E Society of America and the
Catskill Art Society. She has displayed and sold paintings in galleries
throughout New York including the Lunar New Year Festival 2003, Chinatown in
New York City.
Some of Anne's Sumi-E paintings include:
