Celebrating Beacon's Centennial

RiverWinds will be selling The Beacon Centennial Book that celebrates Beacon's past 100 years and highlights the people, organizations and businesses which have contributed in significant ways to our community.

From the initial settlers and pioneers to the ones who followed in their footsteps, the city that we know and love today has been built upon the shoulders of many individuals and groups who have dedicated their time, skill, passion and expertise to create the vibrant community that we are proud to live in and be a part of.

In hard cover, the 170 page book features historical and full color photographs, narratives and articles written by over one hundred individuals and organizations within our local community.

The “Along the Hudson” art show celebrates the Hudson Valley, the River and its environs. Images are from New York City up to the Hudson – Athens area. Artists have long been inspired by the river and the valley. This show provides a fresh look at our local world, strong and powerful to the quiet and serene.

Painters and mixed media artists are: Rachel Avenia, Virginia Donovan, Nita Klein, Basha Maryanska, Sally Lyon, and Linda Storminger.

Photographers are: Mary Ann Glass, Robert Goldwitz, Philip Haber, Linda T. Hubbard, Rita Pignato, Rosanna Selnekovic and Patricia Wind.
